The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders of Assam led a ‘Peace & Prosperity March’ amid protests against the Citizenship Act by the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) in Nalbari district today.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Finance & Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also joined the rally. State BJP President Ranjit Kumar Das and other members of the current ruling government also took part in the Peace & Prosperity march.

The aim of the march was to establish the fact that the people of Assam wish to continue walking towards the path of peace and development.
Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal took to Twitter and posted, “Joined thousands of people in a silent padyatra along with colleagues, MPs and @BJP4Assam karyakartas at Nalbari. The ‘Akya Samadal’ (ঐক্য সমদল) is a call for peace and harmony, a call that the people of Assam wants to continue on the path of development and progress.”
Himanta Biswa Sarma shared, “Affection of people and their spirited participation in

From small children to elderly women ~ everyone astoundingly reposed their faith once more in PM Sri ">@narendramodi and HM Sri ">@AmitShah I thank you all.”Meanwhile, thousands came out in protest of the C(A)A while the BJP leaders took out the Peace March. The protesters had joined the AASU gathering wherein they raised their concerns on the implementation of the CAA in the state of Assam.

It may be mentioned here that this is the first time that the BJP leaders of Assam have come out together in public to address the people post the massive protests following the passage of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the Rajya Sabha.
