Seven BJP MPs, including Union minister of State for Food Processing Industries Rameswar Teli, met Prime minister Narendra Modi on Friday to discuss the prevailing flood situation in the state.
The delegation included Kamakhya Prasad Tasa (MP, Rajya Sabha), Pallab Lochan Das (MP, Rajya Sabha), Pradan Baruah (MP, Lakhimpur), Topon Kumar Gogoi (MP, Jorhat), Dilip Saikia (MP, Mangaldai), Dr Rajdeep Roy (MP, Silchar), Queen Oja (MP, Gauhati), Kripanath Mallah (MP, Karimganj) and Horen Singh Bey (MP, Autonomous Council).

The delegation submitted a memorandum asking for Special Central Assistance to the flood-affected areas in Assam.
In the memorandum, the MPs have asked the Prime Minister to consider for a special package for the Central Flagship Projects like PMGSY, PMAY, PMKSY as roads, houses and crops have been damaged due to the ravaging floods.
It is to be mentioned that the floods continue to wreak havoc in the state.
