Pathsala, January 9, 2020:

Assam’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Ranjeet Dass, on Thursday, gave a traditional response to the All Assam Students’ Union’s (AASU) “black flags” in Pathsala.

While the AASU’s Pathsala wing waved black flags at Ranjeet Dass to express their resentment against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act, the latter responded by waving the ‘Gamusa’ at them. In a video, Dass is seen waving the Gamusa from the vehicle he was seated in.

While the AASU protesters chanted slogans against him and the BJP government such as “BJP Murdabaad, “Modi Sarkar Haye Haye”, etc. Dass’ comrades replied with “BJP Zindabaad” slogans.

Dass was on his way to meet the family of the deceased BJP leader Pranjal Deka. He also visited BJP Bajali district president Nagen Choudhury during his short trip to Pathsala.

It may be mentioned here that Assam has been agitating across its length and breadth over the controversial CAA. The people of the state demand scrapping of the CAA.
