GUWAHATI: Almost a week after the tragic boat capsize in the river Brahmaputra in Jorhat on Wednesday, another body was found floating in the river today in lower Majuli's Bhekeli Chapori area.
The body found in a black shirt is suspected to be of boat capsize victim Dr Bikramjit Barua, who went missing from the spot right after the incident, as on the day of the incident it was said that Barua was wearing the same colour shirt as well.
A team of State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) are on their way to a rescue mission but have not reached the spot yet while this report was being filed.

As per the government record, there were 92 passengers on board on the day of the incident out of which two were found dead and Bikramjit Barua remained missing.
The Police have arrested 11 people so far in the case related to capsize of Maa Kamal ferry boat including the owner Paniram Kalita.
The police have identified the floating body to be of Bikramjit Barua after reaching the spot.
