Assam boxers Shiva Thapa, Lovlina Borgohain to represent India in Asian Boxing Championship

We have some great news for sports enthusiasts of the region as Assam’s ace pugilists Shiva Thapa and Lovlina Borgohain have been selected to represent the country in the Asian Boxing Championship to be held in Thailand capital Bangkok from April 19 to 28.

It is to be mentioned that Thapa is eyeing a record-breaking fourth successive medal at the showpiece event as he won gold in 2013, bronze in 2015 and silver in 2017.

Lovlina has represented India internationally since 2016. Borgohain won a bronze medal for India at the 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships.

Meanwhile, MC Mary Kom has decided to skip the event as she is focusing on the world championship and Olympic qualification.
