He has also designed patches for the 9-aircraft Formation Aerobatic Team of the Indian Air Force.

An aviation enthusiast by passion and videogame designer by profession, the 21-year-old passed out from Noida-located Amity University with a degree in Political Science in 2018. The youngster's interest in designing patches for the IAF stems from a love for aviation and anything airborne.

An eye-condition deterred him from joining the Air Forces as he knew he would not be selected. But, his resolve to be somehow be connected with the boys in the sky led him to start designing patches. When he was merely 18 years of age, his talent was discovered by someone from the Air Force on the internet and gradually, he started receiving more offers once his designs started going viral. He now receives a small stipend for his efforts.

Saurav has not looked back ever since and his beautiful designs have caught the attention of the nation's collective conscious.

One of his patches reads 'AMRAAM dodger' and shows a colorful version of an Indian Air Force Su-30 MKI fighter jet. Several American-made AMRAAM missiles were fired by the Pakistan Air Force on February 27 but were unable to shoot down the IAF's Sukhois, hence the reference. These creative designs are sure to boost the armed forces' morale when push comes to shove and give them that tiny little edge in battle.
