DHUBRI: A team of the 110th Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday arrested a drug peddler and recovered a huge quantity of contraband tablets from his possession.
Acting on tip off, a troop of Border outpost (BOP) Satrasal of 110 Battalion of BSF carried out a special operation in the general area of the village close to Indo-Bangladesh border.
During the raid, party arrested one accused person alongwith a huge numbers of Yaba tablets, while he was trying to supply the same to other peddlers.
The recovered contraband contains six hundred sixty illegal Yaba tablets and one honda motorcycle bearing registration number AS-17H-8360.
Before the smugglers take a rampant shape again, Border Security Force (BSF) step forward to stop the menace of trans-border smuggling of illegal contraband tablets.
The drug peddler has been identified as Hamidul Sarkar (30) residence of Dighaltari, Golakganj, Dhubri.
Later, the apprehended person been handed over to Agomoni Police Station and a case has been registered against the accused person informed JC Nayak, DIG, Border Security Force (BSF).
