In two different operations, troops of Border Security Force under Guwahati Frontier, Assam seized 164 bottles Phensedyl in the bordering areas of village Gachtala and village West Chamta, District Coohbehar (WB) on the intervening night of 27/28 July 2020.
Acting on tip-off, on 27th July 2020, troops of Border Out Post Gachtala, of 47 Bn BSF, under Guwahati Frontier, carried out a special operation in general area of village Gachtala, PS- Sitalkuchi, Distt- Coochbehar (WB) and seized 02 Packets of Phensedyl (Total 100 btls) which were wrapped with plastic.
In Second operation, acting on tip-off, troops of Border Out Post West Chamta, of 100 Bn BSF, under Guwahati Frontier, carried out a special operation in general area of village West Chamta, PS- Sitai, Distt- Coochbehar (WB) and seized 01 Packet of Phensedyl (Total 64 btls) which were wrapped with plastic on the intervening night of 27/28 July 2020.

Seized Phensedyl being handed over to Police Station Sitalkuchi and PS Sitai, Distt- Coochbehar (WB) for further legal action.
Besides, BSF troops of Guwahati Frontier in different operations launched in bordering area of Districts Dhubri, South Salamara (Assam), Coochbehar (WB) and rescued 57 cattle heads and seized miscellaneous items having worth Rs.99,357/-, which were trying to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavours to contain such trans-border crimes.

Acting on tip-off, troops of Border Out Post Sitai, of 100 Bn BSF, under Guwahati Frontier, carried out a special operation in general area of village Sitai, PS- Sitai, Distt- Coochbehar (WB) and seized 02 Packets of Phensedyl (Total 198 btls) which were wrapped with plastic on the intervening night of 24/25 July 2020.
