Assam: BTC Chief Hagrama Lays Foundation Stone for 100-Bedded Civil Hospital at Bijni

Bijni, November 25, 2019:

Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Hagrama Mohilary on Monday laid the foundation stone for the construction of the hundred bedded Sub Divisional Civil Hospital here, at Bijni.

Bijni MLA Kamalsing Narzary, BTC, MCLA Atim Hazong, BTC Joint Secretary Dinesh Boro, Bijni SDO Civil Dithakananda Hazarika, Jt. Director, Health Services, Chirang Dwipen Ramchiary, were also present during the occasion.

Addressing the gathering in a meeting held on the occasion, Mohilary said "It is an auspicious day for the people of Bijni as the Bethagaon CHC will be upgraded to Bijni Sub Divisional Civil Hospital. Now, the people of this area will have better healthcare services than before".

Hailing the "vision and leadership" of the present state government led by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for their help, he further expressed his desire to set up a para medical college in Bijni for providing education to unemployed youths.

This scheme will be implemented after the upgradation of Bhetagaon CHC to Bijni Sub Divisional Civil Hospital at a cost of Rs. 15,32,43,139 crore under NHM, Assam, on turn-key basis.

It may be mentioned here that the main hospital building will be of G-2 with the provision of rooms for out patient department, ophthamology department, immunisation room, ten bedded ward, minor operation theatre, mothers' breast feeding room, doctors' rooms, nursing rooms, diagnostic/USG unit, laboratory unit, clinical pathology unit, micro biology department, emergency/casualty department, dressing room, auto claver, store room and canteen.

As per the scheme, four doctors' quarters and a morgue will also be constructed, along with the main building.
