The All Assam Private Bus Owners’ Association has threatened to hike the fares of commercial vehicles if the government does not take steps to reduce prices of fuel, particularly diesel.
The association said as the price of diesel was increasing every day the bus owners were finding it difficult to ply their vehicles. There is a need to increase the fares as there is no sign of reduction of diesel price, it said.
The association made it clear that it would wait till September 30 and if by then the government failed to take any steps to solve the problem, it would be also forced to stage protests.
