Mother of Sam Stafford, the 16-year-old Martyr who succumbed to gunshots of the State Forces during the Anti-CAA Agitation, is admitted to GNRC Hospital, Guwahati.
"Her son’s death has left a deep void and has impacted her health ever since. She is on ventilator support. Prayers and wishes for her speedy recuperation", tweeted Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharjya, Chief Advisor of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU).
Seventeen-year-old Sam Stafford, who was preparing for his Class 10 board exams, was the second teenager killed in Assam during the time of protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019.
Sam had joined the protests amid apprehensions that the CAA, that has been designed to fast-track the process of granting citizenship to six non-Muslim communities (Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian), could pose a threat to the culture, language, and identity of the State of Assam.
