Assam: Chirang Army Camp celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas

The Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated at the Chirang Army Camp on Thursday.

Commanding Officer of Chirang Army along with senior-most ex-servicemen laid floral wreath at Garhwal Rifles War Memorial in the camp to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas and paid homage to the martyrs.

The ceremony was attended by junior commissioned officers and jawans of Chirang Army along with 152 ex-servicemen from Chirang district. The ceremony recalled the supreme sacrifices made by gallant soldiers upholding the integrity of the nation.

The day marks India’s military victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War. The war witnessed Indian soldiers fighting in inclement climatic conditions and facing enemy sitting on advantageous heights.
