GUWAHATI: The Assam Police’s CID arrested two more accused from Kamrup district in connection pre-Matric scholarship case on Sunday night.
The CID and local police raided various locations under Nagarbera and Boko police stations and picked up Mohammad Ashraf Ali, 33, of Badla Pathar village under Nagarbera police station, and Mustafa Ahmed, 31, of Jawakatadiya under Boko police station.

Both have been formally arrested by CID today in connection with CID PS case No. 20/2020 under Sections 120B/406/ 409/419/420/468/471 of IPC, added Sections 66C and 66D of IT Act.
Ashraf Ali is a business correspondent-cum-CSP owner of Central Bank of India, Malibari Bazar, while Mustafa Ahmed acted as a middleman to misappropriate scholarships amount meant for students belonging to minority community of Barpeta district.
With the arrests, the total number of people apprehended in connection with the case has gone up to 32.
