MARGHERITA: Buddhist Community Holy and Auspicious Festival Kathin Civar Daan Utsav held at Powai Mukh Buddhist Temple under Margherita Constituency with fervour and gaeity which is a two days programme 13th and 14th November.

On the first Day Programme begins with Hoisting of Buddhist Flag by Ithikaa Mahathera Chief Monk of Borphakial Buddha Vihar and Sanganayak of Purvanchal Bhikkhu Sangh followed by inauguration of Kyangmu,PanchaBogiyo Vihar,Upogupto Vihar,Musandori(Basomoti) by Powai Mukh Margherita inhabitant Deben Chowlik his wife Nangwok Chowlik along with Deben Chowlik Son in Law 124 Number Margherita Constituency MLA Bhaskar Sharma his Wife Amsha Sharma, Manik Nath and his Ichen Chowlik Nath.

A Souvenir title "Poi Lu" was inaugurated by Bhikkhu Gyanopal Mahathera President of All Assam Buddhist Association which Secretary  Sashidhar Shyam composed the Souvenir.

During the inauguration of Souvenir "Poi Lu" many Distinguished persons were present such as Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma Representative Disen Tipomia, Bhikkhu Biriya Mahathera, Bhikkhu Chandamoni Mahathera, Chikan Shyam,Deben Chowlik,Samsong Shyam,Bhogeswar Thumung, Debanand Machey and Chaiken Mahow. The Inauguration of Souvenir Programme was moderated by Sushen Shyam.

"Poi Lu" Souvenir Secretary Sashidhar Shyam said that Powai Mukh Buddhist Temple under Margherita Constituency was Established in the year 1953 where Tai Khamyang Buddhist Dayok and Dayika (Followers) are the caretaker of Powai Mukh Buddhist Temple. Sashidhar Shyam said that Tai Khamyang language is spoken by Few people which British Philosopher Stephen Morrey once said that Tai Khamyang language shall vanished within 20 to 30 years but we Tai Khamyang Buddhist people have preserved our Language,Culture and Tradition which cannot be vanished till than we are alive.

A Traditional Tai Khamyang religious rally was taken with Lord Buddha Statue with pomp and gaeity.
