GUWAHATI: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has announced that physical classes for the students of Class X to be resume next week on September 20 as the COVID-19 situation is "improving" in the state.
"Not more than 30 students are allowed in each section of the class. A new SOP will be released by tomorrow for the teachers and students of class 10. And I would urge the students to mentally prepare themselves to attend classes from this coming Monday," said Pegu today addressing the press.

Online mode of education will continue for students who prefer to attend online classes rather than physically attend school. Physical attendance in schools is optional and not mandatory.
Classes of 12th standard and degree courses have already started in the state, informed the minister.
The educational institutions will reopen from Monday for the final-year classes – Class XII, TDC final year and post-graduation final year - after long disruption by the COVID-19 pandemic.
