GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is overjoyed that the 3 lakh vaccination target against COVID-19 has been met on Monday.
From June 21 to June 30, the Assam government has set a target of administering 3 lakh Covid-19 vaccinations every day, and so all guardian ministers and secretaries in Assam have been ordered to visit their respective districts and ensure higher vaccination rates.
Assam yesterday vaccinated over 3.19 lakh individuals, exceeding the target of 3 lakh per day.

CM Sarma took to Twitter and expressed gratitude at the achievement of the 3 lakh vaccination target.
"India embraces PM ">@narendramodi Ji’s call for vaccination. The record 80 + lakh vaccination is so heartening and I am glad that Assam too has achieved the target we set for 3 lakh vaccination every day. My compliments to health workers on this glorious feat. Well done India!," CM Sarma tweeted.
Assam, just like the rest of the country, has joined the ‘Free Vaccination for All' campaign, with anybody over the age of 18 being eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine for free at government-run vaccination centers across the state.
Te vaccination campaign has started yesterday and will continue till June 30.
