GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed official inquiry into the issue of Mother's Old Age Home in Guwahati and ordered the report to be submitted within 12 hours.
The old age home which once used to be known for emitting happiness and positivity, has now found itself surrounded by chaos and controversies due to some dispute between two committee members.
According to reports, committee members Utpal Harshavardhan and Monica Sharma, who have been taking care of the residents since past 9 years, have developed a bit of bad blood.

The rift between the two has resulted in a chaotic atmosphere in the old age home leaving the elderly residents in a state of confusion, distress and anxiety.
The duo has been accusing each other of misbehaving with the elderly residents. According to sources, Uptal has also alleged the involvement of a third person who, according to him, has been influencing Monica.
"Both are like cats and dogs. We know they cannot stay together anymore. And we want to live in peace," one resident of the old age home said.
The Chief Minister's interference has provided a sense of relief to the residents and they are are praying for the issue to be resolved soon.
