GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday informed that the state government will withdraw First Information Report (FIR) against DC Kolasib & SDPO Vairengte.
This comes after Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga on Monday directed Police to withdraw the FIR against his Assam counterpart and other top officials.
"I learn that Honble CM ">@ZoramthangaCM has asked ">@mizorampolice to withdraw FIR dt 26.7.21 against our officers.I heartily reciprocate this positive gesture and ask ">@assampolice to withdraw cases against DC Kolasib and SDPO Virengte".

The FIR was been filed against Sarma by the Mizoram Police on charges of attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy over the Assam-Mizoram border violence that took place on July 26.
Sarma further informed that the state Govt will send two state ministers - Atul Bora and Ashok Singhal to Aizawl to hold meetings with the Mizoram counterpart to resolve the border dispute between the two states.
The meeting will take place on August 5, informed Chief Minster in a tweet.
