Assam CM Reviews Flood Situation in the Stateflood situation

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday reviewed the flood situation through video conferencing with all the Deputy Commissioners (DC) of the state.

CM Sonowal had asked the DCs to stay alert and directed them to keep control rooms active in order to serve the flood-affected round the clock.

Sarbananda Sonowal asked the DCs of the districts that have been affected by flood to take appropriate measures to provide medical assistance and also ordered that if in any case there is a scarcity of doctors, then the Health Director be contacted immediately.

The CM has also expressed concern over medical assistance for the animals and scarcity of food and drinking water in the areas affected by the flood.

The CM has ordered to make arrangements for regular police patrolling. He has also asked the district administration to be alert and to take precautions to curb instances of electrocution.

Sonowal has directed to collect the blood samples from all the relief camps in order to detect and curb Japanese Encephalitis and Malaria as it has been the major concern in the state. He has also ordered to grant a one-time compensation to those who had lost their lives in the floods.

Sonowal has urged the administration to identify the landslide-prone areas and spread awareness among the people of the city. He has urged the government employees and officials to cooperate under the leadership of all the DCs and work for the people those who have been affected by the devastating flood situation of Assam.
