GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has finally broken his silence over rumours of renaming of the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport and said the name is not going to change.
"Nobody can change the name of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) till I am the CM here," said Sarma today addressing the media.

CM Sarma also asked not to create unrest over the matter.
Speculations doing the surface that LGBI Airport, which is named after Assam's first CM Gopinath Bordoloi, to be named after Adani group soon and it caught fire after a tender invitation published in some newspaper has gone viral on social media under the name of Adani Guwahati International Airport.
Another regional political party Assam Jatiya Parishad is also doing rigorous campaigns against the alleged attempts of renaming of the LGBI Airport.
