Assam CM Sonowal to Dine with US President Trump at 'Rashtrapati Bhavan'

New Delhi, February 23, 2020:

Today is Trump's second day in India and a sumptuous feast has reportedly been prepared to satiate the President's immense taste buds and giving him company at the high-profile dinner will be none other than Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal of the BJP!

According to reports, as many as 25 US representatives are set to attend the feast that will be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

Moreover, 60 high-profile guests from India are also set to attend the feast. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal's name has meanwhile found its mention in the list of people who have been invited to attend the fiesta and the CM will be flying to Delhi in the afternoon. Notably, Sonowal is the only CM from the Northeast, and fourth overall, to be invited to the high-profile feast.

It is worth mentioning here that Sonowal, who had earlier received the report of recommendations to implement the Clause 6 of the Assam Accord from a "high-powered" Committee, is expected to hand it over to Home Minister Sarbanand Sonowal.

Meanwhile, India and the US have finalised defence deals worth USD 3 billion, and signed three MoUs, including one in energy sector.
