Responding to the Assam CM's earlier statement that protests will not solve anything, the AASU leader stated that the CM himself has ascended to the throne through the means of protest. "He should remember his roots", Thakuria stated.
Condemning the BJP's student body ABVP for its support for the CAB, the AASU has alleged that since they are mere puppets of the BJP, their strings are being pulled by the saffron party.
It may be mentioned that the AASU has launched mass protests across Assam in opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, which will be tabled in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
