The streets of Nalbari town in Assam today and indigenous organizations' members showed up to confront Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal with black flags as a mark of protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

After members of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) turned up to protest against the CM in Nalbari, authorities reportedly rained blows upon the protesters. This act resulted in an altercation between the AASU members and local authorities and the situation soon turned tense.
The CM's convoy was again confronted by AJYCP members waving black flags. This time, two of the protesters were arrested by the authorities.

It may be mentioned here that the CM was headed to Sarthebari in Barpeta district to attend a religious function when his convoy was disrupted not once, but twice, by the anti-CAA brigade.
