Dibrugarh, January 15, 2019:

Continuing to express their resentment against the passing of the Citizenship Amendment Bill, members of the All Assam Students' Union on Wednesday showed black flags to the Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

This time, Sonowal was confronted with the ubiquitous black flags at Mohanbari in Sonawal's native district of Dibrugarh. Reportedly, the AASU activists waved the black flags at Sonowal after he landed at the Dibrugarh district, apparently on a visit to his ancestral house in nearby Chabua to celebrate Bhogali/Magh Bihu.

Time and again, Sonowal has run into trouble in Dibrugarh, as the members of the student body have not let the Chief Minister rest in peace in his native district. At one time, Sonowal was heckled so badly by an AASU bike rally, that he saw it best to leave Dibrugarh by chopper.

Sonowal was also heckled by AASU workers on the first day of the New Year. On the first day of year, the Chief Minister was headed to Sarthebari in Barpeta district to attend a religious function when his convoy was disrupted not once, but twice, by the anti-CAA brigade.

After members of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) turned up to protest against the CM in Nalbari, authorities reportedly rained blows upon the protesters. This act resulted in an altercation between the AASU members and local authorities and the situation soon turned volatile. An AASU member, who was reportedly assaulted by local police, had to be hospitalized due to grievous attacks sustained in the attack.
