ASSAM: COBRA 210 BN APPREHENDS ONE, RECOVERS AMMUNITIONS

On the basis of secret information regarding movement of a person with illegal arms and ammunitions from Chapaguri side to Kokrajhar side by vehicle, today on 18th June, multiple nakas were placed by Police and CoBRA team of 210 BN of CoBRA on NH 31C at Samthaibari and nearby places from 1100 HRS. At about 1730 HRS, during checking of the pessengers of a bus bearing registration number AS 16/1527, three numbers of country made pistol and 11 rounds of live ammunition of unspecified calibre and one mobile handset with SIM were recoverd from the possession of one pessenger. During preliminary interrogation he revealed his identify as Md Forman Ali, R/O Mojrabari village, PS- Sidli, Chirang. His interrogation is on to find out his links with any militant organization. A case is being registered in Sidli PS.
