The state of Assam has completed 2.27 lakhs tests overall. An important aspect of the achievement is that on 16th June, it has also completed 10,000 tests in a single day.
Taking stock of the situation, Assam Health Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted
A total of 10 people have been tested positive for the COVID-19 in Assam on June 16th, 2020 taking the state’s total to 4319. Of the 10 confirmed cases, three are from Dhemaji, three are from Udalguri, two are from Sonitpur and one each from Nagaon and Hojai.
Informing this, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted:
Of the total 4319 confirmed cases, 2103 are active cases and 2205 have been cured and discharged while eight died due to the infection in the state so far.
Assam has crossed the 1000-mark in 60 days. It reported the first case on March 31st, 2020.
