According to the Bora, Sonowal had flagrantly violated the MCC by launching the 'Free Drugs Scheme' for 651 tea gardens across the State on September 24, 2019.
Bora alleged that the scheme will benefit the BJP in the upcoming elections. "The launchinh of Free Drugs Scheme will directly benefit the BJP-led Government in the ensuijg bye-elections of 4 LACs", he wrote in his official letter.
The Congress further urged the Election Commission to take "necessary action" against the Assam Chief Minister. "Sonowal has violated the Model Code of Conduct for the greater interest of free and fair election", the letter read.
