A sensational letter has reached Inside Northeast which sheds more light on why Assam Rajya Sabha MP and Congress whip Bhubaneshwar Kalita abruptly quit early in the morning on Monday.
In the letter, which is circulating online, Bhubaneswar Kalita laments the party's stand against the revoking of Article 360 and 35A, which granted special status to Kashmiri citizens, and stated that it is the reason he has decided to sever his longtime association with the Congress party.
Kalita stated that the whip was against the nation's sentiment, and stated that it was the reason which caused him to resign.

"The Congress leadership is trying to completely destroy the party. No one can stop the Congress party from destruction", the letter stated.
In other Bhubaneshwar Kalita-related news, rumors are rife that the senior Assam Congress leader will soon be inducted into the BJP party. Stay tuned to Inside Northeast for more updates.
It is to be recalled that Home Minister Amit Shah has proposed in the Rajya Sabha to revoke Article 370, and bifurcate the state of Jammu and Kashmir into Jammu-Kashmir UT and Ladakh UT. The main opposition, the Congress, has strongly opposed the move of the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government.
