'When humanity overpowers religion'
At a time when religion is used as weapon to create rift, instigating violence, the incident of the carcass of a Hindu man finding shelter at Masjid in Tinsukia District has once again instilled the fact that humanity isnt dead surpassing the religious snag.
Virendra Singh, a worker of Tinsukia's Puja Mandir who had not been doing well for long was admitted into Dibrugarh Medical College breathed his last on 18th June. Singh who had been staying alone in Tinsukia District had no kith in the district to perform his last rites. The new masjid committee at the Nepali road going beyond the trivialities of religion barriers, harboured the corpse for two days in the Masjid till the arrival of his family members.
Such an incident time and again proved that the ounces of humanity is somewhere still alive.
Thus Tolstoy once rightly said that the soul meaning of life is to serve humanity.
