GUWAHATI: The COVID-19 crisis has forced education systems worldwide to find alternatives to face-to-face instruction. As a result, online teaching and learning have been in practice by teachers and students on an unprecedented scale. However, The Cotton University students in Guwahati are now demanding offline classes.

According to the students, they are demanding for offline classes as they are not satisfied with the online mode of education.

The students also expressed dissatisfaction on the the University's decision to conduct online classes.

However, it is a big question now if resuming offline classes would be a safer option keeping in mind the increasing COVID-19 cases in Assam.

On Thursday, the state reported 169 new COVID-19 cases, 107 less than the previous day's figure, taking the tally to 6,11,656.

Four fresh fatalities during the day pushed the death toll to 6,019.
