There is an angst among the people of Bodoland for not including the Bodo language in the Central Teacher's Eligibility Test(CTET) which will be conducted by Central Broad Of Secondary Education in 20 scheduled languages. Bodo language which was included in the list of scheduled language after the amendment of the 8th schedule in 2003 has not found a space in the list of languages undertaken by CBSE for conduction of CTET examination . The rage of the people knew no bounds after such a declaration
Speaking to Inside NE, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Diamary stated that is a loophole under the part of the Assam Government to take the elevate the bodo language to bring into the focus of the Central Government. He states " Bodo is included in the 8th schedule and even Nabodaya schools has Bodo as a subject, which clearly indicates that requirement of a Bodo teacher is a must. A person might even accomplish his highest degree of proficiency in Bodo language, for such a person this might act as a barrier putting him at the disadvantage". He clearly stated that the concerned departments should raise the better to protect it from utter negligence.
Speaking to Inside NE. ABSU president Pramod Boro stated that it is very unfortunate that Bodo language which is a part of the 8th schedule isn't included. He also stated that this language which is used as a matter of instruction even in a University level should have been included in the list. " We condemn this and demand the concern department to take necessary steps in this regard"
Thus it will be a matter to ponder over if the language actually gets the recognition it forever deserves.
