Assam: Day two of DC conference commences in Diphu

KARBI ANGLONG: The second and final day of the first All Assam Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Conference has commenced in Diphu on Monday.

The DCs of 33 districts in Assam including Chief Secretaries, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Commissioners of various departments had attended in the meeting on the first day.

After the end of the first session Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "I admire the tenacity & commitment of our officers. The first day of DCs Conference at Diphu - it’s been on for past 13 hours, non-stop, and continuing".

“After the formation of the new government and this is the first meeting with the DCs of various districts of Assam. Earlier to this a meeting with all SPs was convened at Kaziranga. In the next conference to convened will be with the DCs and SP together.”he said.

He added that in every six months there will three meetings the first is with SPs, second is with DCs and third is a joint conference.

"We are planning to hold the conference outside Guwahati", he added.

Topics including administration, Jal Jivan mission and otheres were discussed in during first day of the meeting.
