The deplorable road condition in Kokrajhar in Assam has exposed the BJP government’s development works. The J D Road via Kokrajhar-Bhotgaon has turned to pond/lake like situation due to lackadaisical attitude of the concern authorities.

Citizens, while expressing resentment over the road condition, alleged that the concerned authority has not given any importance despite repeated requests were made.

"We couldn't think or imagine a road is available along the JD Road in today's hour as citizens as well commuters are facing severe hardships in leading daily life that creates resented and miserable situation”, local people said.

They (citizens) accused by the state government and former BTAD administration have failed to take renovation jobs to make repairs in their reigning periods and demanded an early renovation.

The JD Road which is regarded as one of the busiest roads that connects to the neighboring Dhubri district and is remaining far from repair or renovation for a few eight years.

The road is situated only a few five-kilometers far from Kokrajhar town that becomes deep gorged and muddy besides seeming like ponds or lake on the road-body due to insincerity attitudes from the state government and BTAD authorities for renovations or repairs till date.

On Tuesday, Gaonburhas from the eight villages of greater Bhotgaon area and UPPL candidate from Fakiragram constituency, Matiur Rahman submitted a memorandum to the Principal Secretary of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Siddarth Singh seeking early necessary steps for repair/renovation of the JD Road to facilitate healthy road communication.

UPPL leader and UPPL candidate from Fakiragram constituency, Matiur Rahman alleged that BPF ruled BTAD administration totally failed to construct road or renovation works along the JD Road via Bhotgaon due to insincerity attitudes towards the region.

"This is not seeing the road, but getting scenarios like ponds/lakes on the road as waters are filling on the road. Common peoples and commuters have to face severe deplorable conditions along the road", Rahman added.
