Assam detects 102 cases in single day, tally reaches 5006

Assam detected 102 new COVID-19 cases on June 19^th late night, 2020 taking the state’s total to 5006.

However, the rate of recovery has been increasing as stated by Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Informing this, he tweeted:

Of the 50006 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 1928 are active COVID-19 cases and 3066 have been cured and discharged while 9 died due to the infection in the state so far.

Assam has crossed the 1000-mark in 60 days. It reported the first case on March 31st, 2020.

It recorded 102 cases on June 19th.

India has crossed 2 lakh-mark in terms of corona positives on June 3rd. As on June 20th, the country currently has 381K confirmed COVID-19 cases, 168269 active cases with 213830 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 12948.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 5 thousand deaths. It has recorded 124331 corona cases with 62773 cured, 5893 deaths, and 55665 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 53116 cases with 23569 cured, 2035 deaths, and 27512 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 54449 positive cases with 30271 cured, 666 deaths 23512 active cases. Gujarat with 26141 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 18159 have been cured, 1618 deaths, and 6364 active cases.
