The dishevelled incidents occurring in the North Eastern States in the recent times had left an impact on the people outside the states, leading to apprehensions about the security of the place and this was confirmed by Jayanta Malla Baruah, chairperson of Assam Tourism. He stated that the bookings to the state has been drastically reduced and cancelled. The incidents have instilled a fear to treading on the lands. However Baruah stated that the Tourism department is working for the restoration of normalcy and to recover the people from the havoc. He stated that the people across the state has been protesting, voicing their concern for the speedy justice of the victims, which leaves signals a positive message about the togetherness of the people and that deciphers that only for a bunch of felons the entire community cannot be donned malign.
Speaking to INSIDE NE, Baruah also stated that the government has taken a positive initiative regarding this and around 5000 youths will be employed to spread awareness and sensitize the people of the remote area. And he also stated that with the coming of Ambubashi mela, the tourism department will focus to spread the message of harmony and unity in the state.
Thus it will be interesting to see if the fancy glittering events are for once put aside to strengthen its internal security to regain the faith of the people about the peace, harmony and security in the state.
