NAGAON: The Maha Mrityunjay Temple in Assam's Nagaon district suffered minor damage in the massive earthquake measuring 6.7 magnitude that struck wake up Assam and the Northeast with its tremor this morning at 7.51 am.
The cracks have been reported in the upper portion of the Maha Mrityunjay Temple.
After the strong quake, the state has recorded as many as six aftershocks.

The earthquake had epicentered in Assam’s Sonitpur district, but tremors were felt in other parts of the Northeast and as far away as North Bengal.
The tremors have damaged many properties and cracks developed on a number of buildings in many places, walls have collapsed, and windows have been broken in some places in the state, although, no report of loss of human life has been reported so far.
