The re-polling was green-lit after resentment over the opening of the ballot boxes by the Presiding Officer of the 36 No. Srirampur High School.
Enraged locals reportedly broke the ballot box, which has prompted the political parties to call for a re-polling at the Srirampur Polling Station. The Assam State Election Commission has acquiesced to the demand, and polling is now underway minus any more mishaps. The polling will be held till 4:30 PM in the afternoon.
With the high-voltage polls in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) having officially come to an end, all eyes will now be turned to the results, which will be declared on December 12. Already debates and discussions have begun and experts and pundits are weighing in with their predictions.
