ASSAM: ELEPHANT SHOT AT NANG PHAI RESERVE FOREST

Lack of responsibility failed to protect the lives of animals of the forest.

The local people of Jagun today spotted an injured elephant at the Nang Phai Reserve Forest. The elephant had bullet marks on its body. The forest officials reached the spot three hours after being informed by the people. The spot was an Elephant Zone earlier which is now covered by settlement of different communities. The Department of Forest has failed to protect the animals of the forest.
