DHUBRI: In India, the focus on the E-rickshaws has been immensely under consideration but breaking the law is also a crime. Enforcement team of Dhubri district on Tuesday has detained numbers of E-rickshaws which was running illegally without government registration and proper papers.
In a joint operation, a team led by Mizazur Rahman, DTO Dhubri which includes enforcement team and Dhubri police, conducted a raid in the town area of the district and detained twenty eight E-rickshaws.
Keeping in view the pollution of environment is one of the reasons that the government is looking for a eco friendly mode of transport. Hence, from time to time the authorities have introduced several schemes to boost the electric vehicle industry but taking advantages many E-rickshaw pullers plying in the roads of Dhubri district without any proper papers and documents.
While considering E-rickshaws as a suitable choice for the public, safety is the prime concern which comes to our mind. Hence, the government has decided some safety checks for these vehicles in the first place and issued some guidelines accordingly the norms of 'District Transport Officer' informed Mizazur Rahman, DTO Dhubri.
Later, a case has been registered against all the unauthorised manufacturers of E-rickshaws which will be investigated later by the transport authority following guidelines, including the drivers driving the E-rickshaw without license.
