Thus the words of Churchill befit the contemporary situation in Assam where the love for power and status has maligned the entire game outnumbering the other.
The already ignited people of Assam got furious when the President of AGP, Atul Bora who has forever stood strong opposing the bill failed to raise the issue of Citizenship Amendment Bill in Cabinet meeting yesterday.
The revelations came after Chandramohan Patwary's lucid statement that the matter was not raised in the meeting. Such response of the regional leaders garnered reactions from all corners
However the Press Meet of Atul Bora today after his quititude got our eyeballs rising when he made his stand clear dejecting the allegations of Patwary. He stated that AGP did raise the issue of Citizenship Amendment Bill outright in the Cabinet meeting and that the matter was discussed long. He even declared to cut down the alliance if demand calls for. However on such a declaration the CM was prudent enough to refrain from the issue on the pretext that the issue doesn't fall on their agenda and that it is a Parliamentary bill. Bora has to say that Sonowal also stated that they hold separate opinions regarding the issue and urged to wait till the publication of the NRC and make ask not to disclose anything in public. Hail to the saviour of 'Jati, Mati, Bheti'! Nevertheless Atul Bora has to say that only to regard the words of the CM, he deviated from speaking the matter in public. When asked if it was a political conspiracy because Bora who shone in the NEDA meeting had to see a downfall yesterday, Bora ,may be dropping some hints stated that Conspiracy against them and any revolutionary body will forever continue. He stated" A mere cloth cannot douse the inferno, and when choices offered, we will always choose people over power "
Speaking to INSIDE NE today, Chandra Mohan Patwary still stood intact to his words saying that the matter was never raised in the Cabinet but prior to the meeting. When asked if the ministers of AGP actually proclaimed to break off alliance if the bill gets passed he gave perplexing reaction that he didn't know about it. We wonder if he was actually present in the meeting!
Thus such topsy turvy statements gives rise to a number of questions Was it a strategy to malign the the raised status of Atul Bora? Is this the commencement of the rift between BJP and AGP? Now it is up-to the public to unclad the complexities coming to some valid conclusion
Thus the game of politics once again stood an evidence that Power reigns at the end, checkmating the other.
As the saying goes " To err is human, to blame someone else is Politics "
