Assam: Excise Dept seizes illicit liquor, fermented wash in Silchar

DISPUR: Excise department in Silchar seized illicit distilled liquor, fermented wash and IMFL on Wednesday.

In the course of the patrolling duty at Silcoorie camp market Durgakuna TE, Irongmara Gutitilla, National Highway Point, Meharpur and adjoining areas under Silchar, the police station seized 25 litres of illicit distilled liquor (sulai), 80 litres of fermented wash which were subsequently destroyed.

10.08 BL of different IMFL brands containing 180ML each and 03.6 BL of beer containing 650ML each were also seized.

A total number of three cases were booked in this connection and two persons arrested with one absconding.
