Assam: Fake Currency Worth Rs 30,000 Recovered, 1 Arrested

South Salmara, December 27, 2019:

A Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) racketeer was apprehended by the Border Security Force (BSF) along with 30 thousand rupees worth of fake currency notes on Thursday from bordering areas of Boreralga, in Assam’s South Salmara district.

Acting on a tip-off, on Thursday, troops of BOP Boreralga of 06 Bn BSF under BSF Guwahati Frontier with Kharuabandha Police raided the house of an individual, who has been identified as Jahirul Islam (aged 30).

During the raid, suspected FICN worth Rs. 30,000 was recovered and the FICN racketeer was nabbed.

The accused has been handed over to Kharuabandha Police for further legal action.
