Assam: Fan Gifts Portrait to Himanta Biswa Sarma, Earns Praise from Minister

Gohpur, November 24, 2019:

Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday exhibited a portrait of him that was presented to him by an adoring fan. The portrait of Himanta, made by a certain Ashok Borah, earned the praise of the Minister, who exhibited the painting publicly in front a party gathering in Gohpur today.

Expressing his gratitude via Twitter, Biswa Sarma wrote, "How much I relish such priceless jewels from those whose timeless love for me has made me what I am today! Humbled by this beautiful portrait by Ashok Borah of Kalabari, Gohpur. Trust me every stroke of brush in this piece of fine art is laced with your affection. Thank you."

It may be mentioned that this is not the only time that the Minister has received such gifts from adoring fans. The Minister often receives such tokens of love from his fans.

However, one fan went a step further when he etched a tattoo bearing the visage of the Minister on his skin.

This Assam boy, who is an ardent fan of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Himanta Biswa Sarma, recently burst into the limelight after it was discovered that he has a tattoo of the neta etched on his forearm.

Bharali, who is an executive member of the ruling Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in Barpeta district of Assam, got inked with the tattoo a couple of years back, however, he came into the limelight only after a picture of his tattoo was uploaded on Twitter by his friend.
