GUWAHATI: After a strong earthquake measuring 6.7 struck Assam and Northeast causing widespread damage yesterday morning at 7.51 am, and as many as six aftershocks throughout the day, the state has felt yet another earthquake tremor measuring 6 .4 magnitude at 1.20 am, confirmed the National Center for Seismology.

The quake occurred at a depth of 19 kilometers at latitude 26.72 and longitude 92.43.
"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.6, Occurred on 29-04-2021, 01:20:53 IST, Lat: 26.72 & Long: 92.43, Depth: 19 Km ,Location: 36km W of Tezpur, Assam," the National Center for Seismology tweeted.
The tremors have damaged many properties and cracks developed on a number of buildings in many places, walls have collapsed, and windows have been broken in some places in the state.
At least two people died of shock or heart attack, while 10 others received injuries after an earthquake hit the region.
Moreover, prime minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah have assured all possible help to the citizens of the state from the Centre.
