GUWAHATI: The Film Fraternity of Assam paid homage to the mortal remains of former chief minister Tarun Gogoi passed away on Monday evening.

Actress Barsha Rani Bishaya alongwith other actors paid tribute to the Congress leader at the Sankardeva Kalakshetra. While paying tribute to the late politician, Barsha Rani said, “It was an irreparable loss for the state. He was the most efficient Chief Minister of Assam and this has been proved by the people as they elected him as the chief minister for three consecutive terms. He was a good human being and being a chief minister he never showed selfishness. He always worked for the state and for the people for which he received love and affection from the people.”

The actress further added, ““He never showed any difference between people be it artists, journalists or common people. He always had conversation with the people with a smiling face. He always used to guide me and inspired me in my life.”

 Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi reached Shrimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra on Wednesday to pay tribute to the Former CM and Veteran Congress leader Tarun Gogoi who passed away Monday evening. Gandhi also paid a visit to the bereaved family at their government residence during his two-hour visit to the city.

3-time former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi’s mortal remains reached the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati’s Panjabari area on Tuesday, where thousands upon thousands of admirers reached to pay their last tributes to the popular leader.

According to reports, the last rites of 3 tune former CM Tarun Gogoi will be held at the Navagraha Crematorium in Guwahati.
