Former National Democratic Front of Boroland – Progressive (NDFB) leader B Mwntai alias Mahan Basumatary has passed away on June 1st, 2020.
He took his last breath at MRM Hospital in Kokrjhar in Assam. he died due to prolonged illness.
Former leader of NDFB-P (now defunct) B Mwntai alias Mahan Basumatary passed away due to prolong illness at MRM hospital in Kokrajhar.

Born in 1971 at Orang in Udalguri district, Basumatary was former lieutenant of the NDFB-P. Basumatary joined the NDFB in 1995.
He left his wife, a daughter and son and hosts of relatives at the time of death.
Several organisations including All Bodo Students’ Union, political parties including UPPL and civilians have mourned the untimely death of Basumatary.
