Acting on specific inputs, the security forces nabbed four youths along with arms on May 26, 2020, morning from different places under Tamulpur police station in Baksa district in Assam.

According to police source, a joint team comprising of Tamulpur police, Darangamela police and Indian Army carried out a search operation at different places along the Indo-Bhutan border area under Darangamela police outpost in Baksa district since late evening and able to apprehend four youths from different three places in the district.

Security team, firstly carried out search operation at Menkok tea estate near Darangamela late night and nabbed one Jawan Kandakar. Based on his revelation, the troops conducted operations at Palashbari and Patkijuli area and arrested another three youths. They have been identified as Budan Kishan, Jiten Lakra and Abhiram Thirki.

Troops also recovered two 7.65 pistol and four live bullets from the possession of the youths.

The arrested members were former members of the Birsa Commando Force, a ceasefire militant organisation from Adivasi community.

"Police administration has been taking strong initiatives against the militant cadres as well anti social activities in the region", said a senior police officer.

On the other hand, in a major breakthrough, the troops of Indian Army in a joint operation with Assam police busted a recruitment racket of banned militant outfit United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA). The troops also rescued a minor from Charaideo district of Upper Assam on May 25th, 2020.

During the operation the teams apprehended one hardcore cadre and four over ground workers belonging to the proscribed group. The apprehended persons have been identified as SS Pvt Baldev Teli, a ULFA(I) cadre and Amit Bara, Sumit Baig, Azad Gohran and Vijay all OGWs. The teams also recovered one 7.62 mm Pistol, 2 rounds of ammunition, mobile phones and SIM cards.
