Getting ready to participate in the 'largest democratic exercise in the world'? You would be interested in knowing some exciting facts about the Phase-I of elections in Assam, which will head to the polls on 11, 18, and 23 April.

A total number of 9,574 polling stations have been set up in the first Phase-I.

Total polling personnel deployed under Phase I – 42,126

Security personnel deployed in Phase I – 180 coys (at least one constable has been deployed in every polling station).

Total Micro Observers for Phase I – 614

Number of Polling Stations with all women polling personnel under Phase I – 201

All Model Polling Stations in Phase I –225

Remote polling station in Phase I – 20

Flying Squad Team (FST) for Phase I – 151

Static Surveillance Team (SST) for Phase I – 137

Video Surveillance Team(VST) for Phase I – 118

No. of EVMs and VVPATs to be used for Phase I – 9574 sets

Total liquor seized (up to April 10, 2019) – Quantity: 1,51,619.4 liters (worth Rupees 1,37,30,925/-)

Total cash seized (up to April 10, 2019) - Rupees ten crores twenty-one lakh six thousand five thousand and twenty-one (Rs. 10,21,06,521).
