Assam girl Manjushree Saikia's unique designs have been showcased at the prestigious Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019.

Chic, stylish, and contemporary, the Ura Maku label's design showcased by the designer drew many hoots and cheers from an appreciating audience.

A Textile Design graduate from NIFT, Mumbai, Manjushree has worked as a freelance designer and has always been a very close observant of human silhouette, persona and styles. Her designs included eri, mulberry silk from Assam and Chanderi tissue combined into

Hailing from one of the quieter pockets of the Northeast Indian state of Assam, North Lakhimpur, the designer grew up with folk tribal cultures, crafts and textiles.

Having quietly worked her way up in the designer circles, the young designer got a chance to showcase her collections at the grand St. Regis hotel in Mumbai, which was hosting the Lakme Fashion Week, a five-day long extravaganza of fashion and lifestyle in the land of Bollywood, aamchi Mumbai.
