The Gauhati Municipal Corporation(GMC) has decided to undertake a task to complete 800 bylanes and sub bylanes and to continue the contract for three years. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati today, GMC Mayor Mrigen Sarania said that the GMC commissioner has sanctioned Rs one crore to every ward and at the same time Rs one lakh to be forwarded to every area member for developmental works. The contractors in charge has to go through a number of steps before their bills getting released. The Engineering students has been entrusted to keep a check on the maintainence of the drains, and after their approval, it has then to be approved by the Ward Commissioner, Ward members and Nagarik Committees. The Mayor in the committee also announced to release every NOC for all the buildings of those who have applied for and to settle maximum problems by April 10. All the NOCs will be released on April 20 after clear verification of all the documents. Also the mayor in the committee declared that if the meat houses violate the FASSAI norms and slaughter act in Guwahati, their licences will get cancelled
